On the Wings of Love 01/26/2016 is a 2015 Philippine romantic comedy television series directed by Antoinette Jadaone, Jojo Saguin and Dan Villegas, starring James Reid and Nadine Lustre in their first primetime television series. The series premiered on ABS-CBN and worldwide on The Filipino Channel on August 10, 2015, replacing Bridges of Love.

The romantic comedy centers around two different people — Leah, a simple girl with an American dream; and Clark, a boy living his American life — who are forced to marry in order to legally stay and continue working in the United States.

Leah Olivar (Nadine Lustre) grew up in a very poor, but happy family. When she was 12 years old her mother Rona (Isay Alvarez) went to the USA to work so that their family will have a better future. After a while life became better for Leah, her sister Tiffany (Bianca Manalo) and Mang Sol (Joel Torre) her father. But tragic news will change their lives forever. Leah’s mother, Rona, had an accident and died. Rona’s death made life hard for Leah and her family. It will also create in Leah a desire that she will carry in the coming years of her life. That is to go to the US and fulfill her mothers American Dream of a better life for them.

Ten years after, this dream will come true as Lea gets her US Visa to compete in a choir competition in San Francisco, California. After the contest, Leah will extend her stay in San Francisco to visit her mother's grave and find a way to legally work in the US.

To Leah's surprise, she didn't find her mothers remains. And as her visa expires finding a job that will allow her to stay in the US will also be elusive. With the urging of Jack (Cherry Pie Picache), the mother of Leah’s Ex-boyfriend Jigs (Albie Casino), and out of desperation Leah will agree to a Fixed Marriage to get her work permit. Wikipedia ABS-CBN traces its history to the first Philippine television station DZAQ-TV, owned by Bolinao Electronics Corporation (BEC) which was later renamed Alto Broadcasting System (ABS). James Lindenberg, owner of BEC, was the first to apply for a license to the Philippine Congress to establish a television station in 1949. His request was granted on 14 June 1950. Because of the strict import controls and the lack of raw materials needed to open a TV station in the Philippines during the mid-20th century, Lindenberg branched to radio broadcasting instead.[6] Judge Antonio Quirino, brother of former President Elpidio Quirino, also tried to apply for a license to Congress, but was denied. He later purchased stocks from BEC and subsequently gained the controlling stock to rename the company from BEC to Alto Broadcasting System (ABS). DZAQ-TV began commercial television operations on 23 October 1953; the first fully licensed commercial television station in the Philippines. The first program to air was a garden party at the Quirino residence in Sitio Alto, San Juan. After the premiere telecast, the station followed a four-hour-a-day schedule, from six to ten in the evening.[6]
